The Hong Kong TCA Scholastic Championship 2026 organized by The Chess Academy of ActiveKids will take place on June 7th, 2026. This will be a special and meaningful Interschool Charity Event whereby a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Medical Foundation, a reputable nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medical care and support to underprivileged children in Hong Kong.

 

There will be 3 Divisions:  Secondary, Upper Primary and Lower Primary sections and schools may enter as many teams as desired across different divisions; each team will have 4 players and a captain.

Event Details are as follow:

Date & Time:  June 7th, 2026 (Sunday); 9:00am – 6:00pm

Venue:             Cafeteria, G/F, French International School, 28 Tong Yin Street, Tseung Kwan O, HK

Format:            7 rounds Swiss

Time control: 10 mins + 5 sec

Points:              Every match victory will be awarded with 2 points, draw 1 and lose 0

Tiebreaks:        1. Game points  2. Direct Encounter  3.Buchholz  4. Best board 1

Section:            Lower Primary (U9 - Players born in 2017 or after), Upper Primary (U12 - Players born in 2014 or                              after), Secondary (U18 - Players born in 2008 or after)

Awards:            Trophies for Top 3 School Teams, and Best Board Winners in all section; Medals for Top 5                                        board winners in all section; Everyone will receive a certificate!

Lunch:               Further details will be provided.

Entry fee:         $1500 per team for early registration ends on May 22, 2026, and $2000 per team afterwards.

Teams Composition:
The teams will be set as 4 players. All the players must belong to the same school. 

​

Ranking of the teams:
The rank of the teams will be determined by:

1. Fide Rating

2. Results from the last tournaments individually or team.

3. TCA Coach assessment.​

The team rankings will be uploaded three days before the tournament. Please ensure that any claims are submitted one day before the tournament. No claims will be accepted on the day of the tournament.

Extra rules:

• All the teams must be assigned a captain.

• Captains must be present in all rounds to sign the final results.​
